Surgiscan ULTRA Lite USB settings

Created by Gabor Szeles, Modified on Thu, 2 May, 2024 at 11:42 AM by Gabor Szeles

Sometimes ULTRA Lite scanners stop working. This is because they need 450 mA current for the camera and the computer cannot provide enough power through the USB port.

The USB maximum power is 500 mA and if USB Hub is used the 500 mA is shared among the ports on the Hub.

It's important to use dedicated USB port to the scanner or use external powered USB Hub.

These settings can help to provide enough power to ULTRA Lite scanners if you use dedicated USB port.

Turn off USB Suspend settings on USB ports

1. Click the Start button and type "edit power plan" in the Windows Search box and select the icon.

2. In the window click Change advanced power settings.

3. In the list search USB settings and open USB selective suspend settings. Set to Disabled these settings and click Apply.

Use an external powered USB Hub for ULTRA Lite

You should use an external USB Hub which has own power source and use this for ULTRA Lite scanners.

Recommended external USB Hubs (02/05/2024):

Vemont 7-ports powered USB Hub

RSHTECH 4-port powered USB Hub
